My dog has had problems with other groomers before, will you be able to help?

Possibly! We would advise giving us a call to talk through your past experiences and see if our holistic approach to grooming may be more suitable to your dog’s needs.

Can I stay with my dog whilst they are being groomed?

Yes, some owners choose to stay with their dogs during their grooms. This is particularly beneficial for dogs that suffer from separation anxiety, we want them to feel relaxed and sometimes that means having their person stay with them. It also supports older dogs who may become disorientated away from home, and puppies who are building their confidence in the big wide world.

Do I need to be a member to visit Heart Dog Salon?

No, you don’t need to be a member to book your dog in for a groom with us.

How much does it cost to have my dog groomed?

Your dog is a unique individual, and so are their grooming requirements.  During your Welcome Consultation we will talk you through what we recommend, and the price options available, specific to your dog’s coat, temperament, and lifestyle.

Do you take on clients from areas other than Whitby?

Yes we do. We are based in Whitby, but we are proud to serve clients across North Yorkshire, including Scarborough, Guisborough, Pickering, Saltburn, Redcar, Malton, York and Middlesborough.

What can I expect during the Welcome Consultation?

  • Let’s talk – Ask all your questions specific to caring for your puppy / dog at home between grooms.
  • Planning – We assess your dog’s coat, nails and teeth to ensure they’re comfortable before grooming begins.
  • Styling – Decide together on the best hairstyle ahead of your groom.
  • Advice – Shampoos, brushes, and equipment that we recommend.
  • Bespoke Wellness Plan – Adapt a groom to care for every dog’s unique physical and emotional needs.

Can I cancel my VIP Club Membership?

We ask for a four week notice period should you choose to no longer stay a member. You are of course still welcome to become a member again in the future, although we can’t guarantee you the same original monthly price or time slot.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 48 hours notice, not including weekends to cancel your appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be charged at full groom price. Please see our full terms and conditions for details. Our terms and conditions must be read and signed before we will groom your dog.

Really recommend this place. I have a bulldog who can be awkward - as bulldogs can be - they deal with her beautifully.
